Unbuilt Projects
While researching Louis Kahn I discovered that most of the sketches and designs he had done remained unbuilt. This was something I never really thought about, as I have never really thought that much about architecture before. Now it is really apparent the true nature of Architecture work. While many times in his later and more well-known years, he was commissioned before having designed anything, in his earlier years, he had to make many submissions for acceptance before actually getting a small number of jobs. Architectural plans are so interesting to me, it seemed a shame to waste them. Here are some of the more notable ones (and ones I particularly liked)

Awbury Arboretum Housing Development - 1959
United States Consulate, Angola - 1959
Dominican Motherhouse St. Catherine de Ricci - 1965
Philadelphia City Planning: Triangle Area Redevelopment - 1946
Prefabricated House - 1937
Roosevelt Memorial Competition - 1960
Pittsburg Plate Glass Company: Store Design - 1944
